12:30 PM - Seminar Series
Presentations by leading vintage and traditional cycling experts.  Includes catered lunch & beverages.
* Hilary Stone, Bristol England.  Our great friend from the UK returns to the Cirque! As many of you know, Hilary is a huge depository of arcane and fascinating vintage bicycle lore, having served as editor for the wonderful newsletter magazine of the Veteran Cycle Club as well as currently vintage cycle editor of the Cycling Plus monthly magazine. He is * * Mike Kone, Boulder Colorado.  The creator and former owner Bicycle Classics and now the force behind Boulder Bicycles and the new Rene Herse Bicycles, Mike is a serious long time vintage bike collector, restorer and historian. This year Mike steps outside all those rolls and will talk about the “other side” of vintage bicycles, discussing some of the often over-looked, fun, interesting and affordable bikes out there waiting for recognition and maybe a new life.
* David Herlihy, Massachusetts.
  The noted historian and author
of Bicycle: the History and his latest title, The Lost Cyclist. He
will speak about this latter, soon-to-be-released book, an exposé of
the mysteries--and political scandal--surrounding the disappearance of
round-the-world cyclist Frank Lenz in 1894.
* Special Exhibits. The bicycle industry and frame-building in particular recently lost to greats in the likes of Ernest Cuska and Bill Hurlow. The Cirque this year will feature special “tribute” exhibits to these two outstanding figures.

7 PM- Awards Reception
A less formal, social reception and the presentation of a few special awards. The reception will also be a Meet-the-Craftsmen affair with all builders attending the Cirque as special guests.  Builders, please bring ONE bike or frame to “line the walls” of the hall for the evening.  Includes desert & coffee.

Our special guest and speaker this year will be Dave Bohm of Tucson Arizona.  Dave is a custom frame builder, innovator and painter, and now also teaches frame building classes.  This will be Dave’s first time at the Cirque and we look forward to learning more about his experience and perspective.
